Help a Child (HaC) is a Christian international NGO specialized in community development with its international office in the Netherlands and operating in South Sudan since 2008. Founded in 1968, HaC’s mission is to improve the wellbeing of children living in poverty and crisis through supportive communities. In our disaster response we focus mainly at the thematic areas Food Security & Livelihoods (FSL), Protection and Education, using the UNHCR graduation approach where possible. In our activities we have special attention for children and youth and pregnant and lactating mothers.
The total program portfolio in South Sudan is about one (1) million Euro. HaC is part of the South Sudan Joint Response (SSJR5) program which is supported by the Government of the Netherlands. In close collaboration with other international NGOs, especially Dorcas Aid International and Plan International, and local partners we are implementing projects in Wau and Boma State. The projects are centered around (Child) Protection and FSL.
Furthermore, we are implementing a girls’ education project in Western Lake State.
The Country Program Director (CPD) will be responsible for the long term and overall success of HaC’s country program in South Sudan. The CPD will manage the country office, the HaC South Sudan Country Program and the country team. (S)he is responsible for the development and implementation of the HaC South Sudan country strategy,delivering high quality projects, successful fundraising, sound financial management and strategic stakeholder management. Furthermore, the CPD will be end responsible for quality control & evaluation, including adherence to donor standards and quality reporting.
The CPD will manage a growing team that currently consists of five professionals.

HaC offers the opportunity to become part of an ambitious, Child centred and Christian International NGO with a dedicated team of professionals motivated to maximize impact. HaC offers a fair pay and benefits package that is justifiable to our donors. Furthermore, you will be offered a fixed term 1 year contract. Depending on funding, your performance and fit with the staff, the contract will be extended. This is a non-family duty station.
